My Sister
Ann, was one of a kind. I know Heaven is a better place, with her in it.
If more people in this world was more like her, the world would be a better
place. I think Ann's purpose in life was to make people feel better about
themselves and she fulfilled her goal to the fullest. The 2nd picture was
taken of us three sisters, at Myrtle Beach, S.C. (left to right) is Dee,
Ann and my self, (Elena). Ann was very protective over us and she was very
loving and affectionate. She wasn't shy at all about showing her love.
I thank God for the time I had her here with me and for the wonderful memories
she's given me. I love you Sissy and I miss you more than words can say...
The top picture was taken at Chris and Monica's Wedding. (left to right)
is Danny (her husband), Bobby, Cory, Chris and Ann. Ann loved her three
boys, more than life itself. She was very proud of all of them. You can
see that in her face in the picture. Cory was the only son living at home,
when Ann passed away.
When we were all little we use to call her Edith Ann. Later as she got
older she wanted to be called Ann. What can I say about this special lady.
Ann was one in a million... She was 16 years old when she married Danny
Strickland. They had three boys, Bobby, Chris and Cory. They were her life.
She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. She was
also very proud of them. She only had (1) grandchild when she passed. Victoria
- (Tori). She was exactly (2) months old, when Ann died, so she barely
got a chance to know her; but boy, she was a proud grandma! All three of
us girls, gave birth to boys. So she was very tickled when her first grandchild
was a Girl! I think what hurts me the most about her death is the fact
that she was such a good mother and never really got to be a hands on grandmother.
She now has (5) grandchildren. Morgan Ann and Cameron are Bobby and Tanya's,
Tori and Tyler are Chris and Monica's and Alexis Ann is Cory and Cortney's.
They're all so very beautiful and it breaks my heart that their Grandma
isn't here to enjoy them, and them enjoy and get to know her.

Ann was always kind and generous to everyone she met. She always had something
good to say about everybody. And she never met a stranger. She loved to
dance and smile and make people laugh. She always called me her little
sis. She loved both her sisters very much.

Ann had gone down hill for about a year before her death. She had an operation
on her neck that later caused more problems and she had a ruptured disk
in her back that could not be fixed. She was put on a lot of medication
and got into a car wreck that caused a broken ankle and pens in her arm.
She had just gone to the doctor a week before she died and everything checked
out okay. To this day, we're not sure what killed her. The autopsy report
was not really conclusive, too many different kinds of medication. Which
to me doesn't make sense, because they were all prescribed by a Doctor,
and she did not O.D. I guess we'll never know what went so terribly wrong.....

We love her and miss her very much and we talk and think about her often.
Ann, Dee and myself always went out and ate to celebrate our Birthdays.
Dee and I miss her a lot especially during those occasions. We always include
her in our conversations. We miss you big sis, always...

My Mama
I don't have but a couple of pictures of my mom. Both pictures are very
old. The first picture of course, is my mom. The second picture was taken
on our front porch in 1959 or 1960. Pictured (left to right) are: Mom,
Dad, Ann, Elena (me) and Dee.

Mama died instantly in a car wreck when I was just (6) years old. I remember
little things about her. She was a very clean person and she drank a lot
of coffee. She use to dip saltine crackers in it. She loved to dance and
was very good at it. She knew all the dances back then. She would always
bring us snacks and bubble gum balls home from work. She always kept my
hair in a curly perm. I remember going to Piggly Wiggly grocery store and
before we went in or before we would leave, she would put me on one of
the rides outside. She dipped snuff. That's about all I remember about
her. I do know she loved us very much. I know mama is looking after Dennis
for me. She never got to see me grow up, so she is getting to know me through
her grandson. I've missed my mom a lot throughout the years.

String Bean Lowery

Age - (16)
Our Fur Baby
We had both the father and the mother. she was a litter of (4). We named
them after vegetables. String Bean, Tater Tot, Mushroom and Sweet Pea.
I helped give birth to them. She was a mixed breed. We think American Fox
Hound and Rat Terrier. But we were never sure. We found good homes for
the rest and the one that didn't get taken, we kept, which was String.
She was such a good dog. She was so devoted to us. She loved us as much
as we loved her and she showed it in everything she did.

Stringy started getting sick when she was around (15). We took her to the
Vet and was told she had cancer. She lived almost (3) months, after her
(16th) birthday. We miss her so much. She was and always will be a part
of our family. String Bean died in my arms looking up at me. You will always be close to our heart.
Mommy, Daddy and Sissy Girl miss you sooooo much baby girl !!!! We love
you...

Sleep Tight Tippy Toes:
Now we lay her in the ground, she lies there sleeping not making a sound.
She goes through the tunnel until she reaches the light,
then she wakes up scared & frighten because she realizes she's lost
her fight.

She misses dad, mommy & Sissy too and then;-wait a minute,
"I feel pretty good & my body's brand new"!

She (runs) through the clouds making all kinds of fuss,
she stops to look down and hopes to see us.
She (barks) real loud so that we can hear,
then she watches us to see, if we've dried up that last tear.

She whispers so softly like a breath of fresh air,
your String Bean will be waiting at the pearly gates when you get here...

We Love You Our Precious Baby Girl Forever, Mommy, Daddy & Sissy Girl.

Age (14)
Our Fur Baby
We got Sissy at a Flea Market when she was (7) weeks old. She was just
a little fur ball. We brought her home and introduced her to String Bean,
thinking that she would like her new little friend. She was none to happy!
She was jealous and didn't mind letting us know it. We had to separate
them for about a week, until things calmed down a little. Before we knew
it, they had become best friends. Sissy grew over night and became the
BIG Sister, rather than the little sister. Whatever String did, Sissy followed.
I've never had it so easy house breaking a pup. String would go out of
the doggie door and Sissy would be right behind her. So there was never
an accident in the house, thanks to String! Sissy was such a easy dog to
raise. No matter what you were doing, she was happy. She never got sick,
never was a picky eater, she was just a great dog! Even up to the last
breath, she took. Sissy started going down hill right after her 14th birthday.
Her belly started to swell and we took her to the vet and had her checked
out. We had been through pretty much the same symptoms earlier with String
Bean. The Vet said it was Cancer. We brought her home and she done OK for
a couple of weeks, then she started getting worse. We took her back to
the vet, mainly to get his advise on what he thought we should do. As my
husband was getting Sissy out of the truck, she passed away...She didn't
want us to have to pay for another visit, or expensive treatment, or have
to see us go through with the heart break of watching her get worse. So,
she left us before we even could get in the Vet's office door. We miss
her so much. We love you Big Girl...

God Took Our Angel Home:
There's a candle burning bright,
for a Special Angel in Heaven tonight.
God took our Teddy Bear Home.

Sissy gave us fourteen wonderful years,
they'll be happy memories, sadness and tears.
God took our Love-Love Home.

She had pointed ears, thick black fur as soft as cotton,
and a heart full of Love. Oh, it was so easy to spoil Her rotten.
God took our Big-Un Home.

She took showers with Mom and rolled on the floor with Dad,
She played with Twinkie, oh what fun they had.
God took our Loved One Home.

Sissy mothered everything that was ever so little,
even though she never had her own liter.
She'd cuddle up next to them, She was such a sweet baby sitter.
God took our Sweet Girl Home.

God Bless you , Sissy Girl.
You will always be loved and missed by your Dad, Mom and little Sis, Twinkie.
